SHARKS Trade for JOE THORNTON

Today, San Jose Sharks recieved C Joe Thornton for LW Marco Sturm, D Brad Stuart, C Wayne Primeau (to Boston Bruins).
WOW! Blockbuster trade. With the Sharks losing so much the rumors were flying to make a trade. The same issue in Boston. Lets start with the guy coming to the Sharks: JOE THORNTON.

Let me start off by saying that Joe Thornton is one of my favorite players. The best I can describe him is OWEN NOLAN (former Shark Captain) except BETTER. There's lots of simularities. Joe can score goals. He can hit (punish and check). He can drop the gloves (fight!). And he's a Captain. He won't be the captain on the Sharks (Patrick Marleau), but he's a leader. On his best day he will be a top 10 player in the league. He is AWESOME.

But to receive, you must let go. Gone are 3 players, 2 are fan favorites, watching them start and mature into the players they are. Brad Stuart is a top Defenceman. Watched him grow up, score his first goal. Marco Sturm is one of the best 2 way players, speed and offence with defensive awareness. He too grew up in front of San Jose. Last year he was dominate before his freak injury. Wayne Primeau was a good veteran centerman. For me they got him for another favorite player Matt Bradley. But he proved to be good enough.

But in the end, I think the Sharks got the better end of the deal. Thornton is become a better player than the 3 guys sent to Boston. The only one that will contend to be that good is Sturm, and he's just struggling right now.

WELCOME TO THE SHARKS, THORNTON!

My Thoughts: Steve Mariucci fired

Six Degrees of Seperation: Scott->Valley Christian->Steve Mariucchi's Son->Steve Mariucchi. Yes his son attended Valley Christian and took them to a CCS Title. Cool huh?

Anyways, back to Mooch's firing. Well. Its too bad. But think of the bright side. He no longer has to work at one of the worst franchises. Maybe not as bad as the 49ers, however the Lions are down there too. I still think that Mariucchi is still a creditable Coach.

I think the problem is the guy above him. Matt Millen, the GM. I can't tell what his direction is. He hasn't done anything but make the Lions a worse team. It was a bad team 5 yrs ago, and it has only gotton worse. Even when they bring in a good coach and a good (but not great) QB in Jeff Garcia, he's failed. They draft 3 1st Round Wide Recievers in the last 3 years. What about the other positions? Joey Harrington isn't the savior of this club. I just don't see where this team is going.

If a team does not improve every year then there is something wrong. So people's heads roll. Mooch was the first. But if Millen doesn't improve again by next year, he has to go too.

At least the Niners have the potential to get better. The Lions currently don't seem to have that potential.

Yeah vs Boo (Pros and Cons): Sports Roundup

Here's an Idea of putting Yeah vs Boo. Like here's a pro, here's a con. Lets try it:

Sports Round Up

YEAH! - Steve Young returns to Candlestick-3com-monster park. Gets a standing ovation from the crowd. Also The Legend Bill Walsh was there too.
BOO! - Sharks can't win a shootout game to save their lives. Nabokov is 0-3 in shootouts. Sharks are losers in 6 in a row. Not what we expected.
YEAH! - Warriors are 7-5. I don't watch Baskeball but they are doing really well... considering they are the warriors... could we say playoffs? Hopefully Byron Davis holds up.
BOO! - 2 games ago, Cody Pickett completes 1 pass... the whole game... how sad.
YEAH! - WWE decides to institute a Drug Policy. With the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero and the drug abuse by Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore, plus the Congress-Forced Steroids policy by Major League Baseball, this is probably a good thing before Congress looks at them next.
BOO! - Eddie Guerrero's passing. A sad sad day from one of the most popular superstars. He has touched many lives. Lived by example to pull himself up from the depths of drug abuse, and alcohol abuse to win back his life, his family, his career. There will never be another one like him. But YEAH because he's in a better place.

And finally:
YEAH! - I'm in FIRST PLACE in Fantasy Football! Actually I'm 7-4, tied with 4 other teams. HOWEVER I scored the most points than the other teams I'm in first. here's to 1st place!

And that is Yeah vs Boo...

Eddie Guerrero (1967-2005)

Here's the Eddie Guerrero, WWE Superstar, former WCW & WWE United States Champion, WWE Europeon Champion, WWE Intercontinantal Champion, WWE Tag Team Champion, WWE Champion. May He Rest in Peace.

He was my Dad's favorite Wrestler.

What I learned and remember the most from Eddie Guerrero:
  • Mamacita
  • Lie, Cheat and Steal
  • Cheat 2 Win
  • Lowriders
  • Viva La Raza!
  • FROGSPLASH
  • Eddie is my Favorite Wrestler
Its weird now because Chavo Guerrero is the last Guerrero wrestling. Maybe they can drop this stupid Kerwin White Gimmick, which is horrible. Now Chavo can carry the Guerrero name proudly.

Lots of memories from Eddie Guerrero. I was there when he won the WWE Title over Brock Lesner. It was a great match! The crowd was electric. It was amazing.

My favorite times were when he and Chavo were doing the "Lie Cheat & Steal" theme. It was funny to watch and the pranks that they would pull were hilarious. When they stole Team Angle's pictures of Kurt. When Eddie would pretend to get hit with a chair and toss the chair to his opponent. Those were the best times of Eddie Guerrero. That took his career to new heights. He and Chavo did lots of crazy stuff.

Farewell Eddie. We'll be cheering your name:
eddie, eddie, eddie, eddie

Football - TO is no Mo'

Ahh, Cheerleaders. Thanks for all the great headlines yesterday. You fulfilled every young man's fantasy. Except for the fight, and the jail time, and the fake ID...

Anyways, looks like T.O. finally met his match. You must be the dumbest player in the league. Open mouth, insert suspension papers. Ok. so you wanted recognition of your 100 TD in your career. However, the Phily Eagles wouldn't do it. So you decided to mouth off about your team. call them "classless." Then go on to imply that McNabb is not a warrior, and that the Eagles would be better with Brett Farve. So Andy Reid, your head coach, decides "enough is enough." He finally wises up and decides that TO is not worth anyone's time and suspends him / Inactivates him for the rest of the year.
TO, you're an A-hole. You represent everything football shouldn't be. A selfish, greedy, spoiled, ME firts, brat. Your mother should bend you over and spank you. You put yourself over everyone and your teammates. You don't care about anything except yourself. And you are willing to trash anyone who gets in your way. And now you're done.

So now the question is who will want TO. I'm sure there will be someone. but lets look at the list of people who won't:
  • San Francisco 49ers - They won't want him back. The crowd boos louder than they cheer when they see him.
  • Baltimore Ravens - umm nope, TO said no way and backed out of a trade with them.
  • Phily Eagles - They are fed up with him.
  • Detroit Lions - Coach Mariuchii won't have this problem on his team.
The quesiton really is who will want to take on the attitude of this spoiled brat? Who will take on the problems that this player will bring into the locker room. When the atmosphere is to promote teamwork, I don't know anyone who will want this player who is in it for himself. He would have to go somewhere where they don't care about football, and I can't think of one. And who will want to pay the money this player is demanding?

Its something I just can't see. But someone will and we'll be doing this all over again in 2 years.
