So I saw X-Men 3 on Saturday Morning. I must say it's alot more fun in the morning because it is alot less crowded. Whew.
To Me: The movie was disappointing. But I must admit, I might have the Comic-Book byest. I know to much about the X-men to accept this movie. I do believe that the Comic book should be the foundation to the movie and there should be stories that reflect the comic book history. But, I think, the movie diviates extremely from the Comic Book Foundation.
So I'll tell you what I think and try my best to not give away the ending.
X-Men 3 deals with 2 stories: Jean Grey's resurrection and The Cure (for mutants to become normal). These 2 stories have nothing in common except that they happen at the same time. If you put the Jean Grey story in one movie and the Cure in a 2nd movie, they could stand on it's own. I felt they were trying to squeeze these two into 1 movie and it's complex.
My Second problem is that there really isn't alot of character development in the movie. All of the sudden Colossus and Shadowcat are X-Men. Rogue is an extremely minor character who is only seen in the 1st half. Jean doesn't say much, Cyclops is only around in the 1st half. Juggernaut doesn't say much, Mystique is only in the first half, Angel doesn't even join the X-Men. Alot of characters were there but you didn't know it. Psylocke, Arclight, Jubilee are listed but you wouldn't know it.
And there's Deaths. You wouldn't believe it who dies in this movie.
On the plus side it is an action movie. Lots of action and excitement. This movie is definately for the Comic book crowd. I don't believe it could stand on its own to the non-comic-book crowd. They would haveto watch #1 and #2.
Oh and there's a teaser at the end of the Credits!!! Don't forget that! it's short, but opens the door for X-Men 4 (which Fox currently confirmed). Hopefully it's better than this one...
I give it 3X out of 5X
For Spoilers head over to Spon's World later on.

Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2006
Electronic Entertainment Expo is the big Video Game Convetion held every year. The major consoles (plus PC) and major Game Manufactuers come out and show us what they have planned for the upcoming year.
Sony and Microsoft lose money on EVERY system they sell. Good thing they have big companies to cover up the losses they amass.
Ironically, Sony PS3 is not the highest priced console ever. That honor goes to NeoGeo and 3DO. I know what you're saying. What systems? well duh they were huge flops because they were so expensive. I hardly see anyone buying a $600 console. throw in $200 more and you can build this Extremetech.com Gaming Computer.
I still have no need for and Xbox360, especially if I know they are going to break. And I damn well can't afford a frickin PS3 (aka PS600$). I almost sold my Nvidia stock hearing that. Luckily I think Nvidia will keep making good video cards. but maybe this is why their stock has struggled the last month.
On to Games:
I'm making my list and I know which games and system (Wii) to buy and go Wii wii wii all the way home.
- Microsoft already released the Xbox 360 for $400. So everyone knows what it can do (it can over heat and break!)
- Nintendo allowed people to play the Wii (formally Revolution). The interesting nunchuck controller, where it has motion sensors and a speaker.
- Sony Playstion 3 comes out and says, "Hard core games will buy our system for $600!" the room immedaitely empties, with one guy yelling out, "you're full of ____!" Where the rebuttal from one Sony Exec. is "You're getting it for cheap!" (this is assumed, I wasn't there. but I konw what I was thinking when I heard it).

On to Games:
- Looking at the games coming out. Alot are coming out on Nintendo's systems. DS has Super Mario Brothers, Princess Peach. And of course both DS and Wii are coming out with The Legend of Zelda Games. And that is BALLER ACTION.
- Grand Theft Auto 4 was announced. But no details. I'll have to blog about my ideas on this one later.
- Raven Software, makers of X-Men Legends, is making Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. In the same fashon of X-Men Legends, M:UA is a RPG, build up your characters. 20 Playable characters including Spider-man, Captain America, Wolverine and (I think) Iron Man. This is definately a game that Quan and I will play.
- Bungie did announce Halo 3.

Disgraced by Booing 'O Canada'
I wish I could apologize to Canada for the Shark Fans who boo'd the Canadian National Athem. Fortuneately I wasn't one of them. It is one thing to hate the Oilers because they are our adversaries right now, but why boo Canada? We should be thankful for Canada. Something like 50% of the NHL players are Canadian. We should thank them for Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau and Jonothan Cheechoo. We should Thank them for being passionate for Hockey and allowing it to be played in the NHL in the US. Booing them is completely disrespectful; to the country, to the sport, and to the players.
Canada hasn't done anything wrong. They have been great nieghbors. Sure there's a rivalry, but that's what happens with siblings.
Hopefully we'll have the chance to redeem ourselves with a Game 7, and that these people WILL redeem themselves. I just hope that Canada and Edmonton don't consider some of these loudmouths to be a majority, when in fact they are a sliver of the minority.

Marvel Civil War & Hot Linking
Marvel Civil War has begun! Check out my page to see who is for and against the
Super-hero Registration Act
--
Moving on, there are still people hotlinking to my website. Why! Why must you make me do other things to screw around with you? WHY? Anyways, there's a page that takes 3 of my pictures and directly posts them onto their pages? Why must you do that? Why are you stealing my bandwidth? WHy WHy WHy?
So I take what every good hacker would do. Change the pictures. I first put a "watermark" on the pictures saying "Ponfamily.com" but then Matt told me, "That one picture... you worked hard to get it. you should really BLOCK it off because only we should enjoy that picture." He's right. I was in the right place right time, clicked at the right moment. So I did. I put a big black circle and some text.
Check it out here on My Site (ponfamily.com)
Screw you for taking my pictures. I think I'll go take your pictures and hot link them. but then again that'd be Eye for an Eye. I'd rather take your head instead of just your eye.
See ya, and for those of you hotlinking my pictures, SCREW YOU.

ARG! a new Dent in the Hood
Coming home from Hollister on Sunday, I stopped at Lowe's in Gilroy to see a friend who was shopping there. After I had left I merged onto 101N. As I began to leave Gilroy, I looked over to the southbound side. A HUGE cloud of dust was kicking up, and in front of that dustcloud was a blue full sized truck. It was skidding along the center shoulder (which is big enough to hold another lane). It was practically perpendicular with the Freeway. SLAM right into the Center Divide. It got turned the correct way, but when it did, the truck tipped almost 45 degrees. Everything that was in the bed of the truck FLEW out. That stuff FLEW out of the bed, over the center divide, over the center shoulder, and landed in the fast lane and middle lane. Some of the debris was still airborn when I drove by it, and slamed into my hood. So I have a dent.
It sucks, but if I kept my speed and there was no center divide, that truck would have slammed straight into me. That would have sucked.
I don't know if the other driver was ok or not. I hope so. I also couldn't tel what happened to cause him to lose control. It may have ben someone clipped his back end and sent him flying. I hope everyone was ok. but still a scary scene.
