I was saddened to hear that WWE Superstar Chris Benoit had died on Monday. It was shocking. As shocking as when Eddie Guererro died. The "Canadian Crippler" was one of the most respected wrestlers in this generation. The "Rabid Wolverine" had the talent and gave 100% to perform. Former US Champion, World Champion, 4 Horseman, multiple Tag Teams. My Heart sank when I had heard he had died...
Then this took a twist that puts a dark cloud over the life and reputation of one of the best Technical Wrestlers ever. He had murdered his wife and 7yr old child, before taking his own life.
What? Is it possible? No, it can't be, not Benoit.
They replaced a live Raw with some of Benoit's best moments, his best matches, his World Title Victory, Standing in the ring with his friend Eddie, both, after 15 years of Japan, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and of course the US, Champions. People spoke of the man they knew. The man who, though quiet, was respected, willing to help people in the ring, outside of the ring, professionally, personally. They spoke how he had taught his son to be respectful in the business. How he helped the younger, next generation adapt into the spotlight.
Is this the same guy? Who everyone thought highly of? is he capable of murder?
The details are still coming together. But it does appear, that Chris Benoit, the Best Technician, the Canadian Crippler, The Rabid Wolverine, has a new label: murderer. He had strangled his wife and snuffed out his son, he sat there in the house before hanging himself.
We may never know why this has happened. There are alot of speculations but it is probably best not to speculate on hypothesis and rumors when you don't have all the facts and clues. And that may not come till the Toxology tests come back in a few weeks. But yes:
It is the same guy. The guy we looked up to. The guy we admired. The guy who gave it all. The guy we stood up and chanted his name well past the end of the match. It's him. He's a murderer.
And unfortunately, after all the great matches that he has given us, this will be the one thing he'll be remembered for.

The Rocket Clemens returns
So Roger Clemens returns for the ump-tenth time out of retirement and is now pitching for the oft-injured no rotation New York Yankees. Good for them. But Clemens is on his own terms. He doesn't have to be there with the Yankees. and he gets paid a whole lot of $$$ bling bling to pitch every 5 days.
But I must say I lost alot of respect for Clemens years ago. It was the first time Barry Bonds vs Roger Clemens. He came right out into the media and said "I'm gonna hit him in the elbow guard" At the time there was a huge discussion on how the batters are shielded with arm guards, shin guards, toe guards.
Sure enough Clemens hits Bonds in the elbow. Bonds took first.
Here's another thing that I object to. Why was Clemens allowed to do that? Why didn't Baseball penalize this player for premeditated intent to bean someone? If it can be proven that someone planned to murder or rob or break the law, it goes right to the top of severity.
Now those are different things but still why didn't anything happen.
Follow up this with the thrown broken bat at Mike Piazza, and mouthing off to umpires, and the multiple retirement ceremonies turned comeback, Clemens has become a big dick.
But speaking of Mike Piazza, who now plays for the A's. It is possible that Piazza vs Clemens when the A's and Yankees get together in New York on June 29-July 1.
Go A's!

I still hate the Ducks.
Congrats to the Ducks. I thought that you would be the team to win it all. You were dominant all year and you deserve to win the Stanley Cup. You have thrived in the New NHL. I thought the only team that could beat you were the Buffalo Sabres. But that didn't happen as planned.
I would like to point out two players that, no matter what you did, I'll still hate you.
1) Teemu Selanne - You didn't make it with the Sharks. you were supposed to be the go-to guy that would put the Sharks over the hump, years ago. but you didn't. And now you play for the enemy. Sure you've had a good career and you deserve it. but you never were like this with the Sharks and that will always leave the Shark Fans scratching their heads.
2) Chris Pronger - The Hated man in San Jose. You've gone from letting the fans harass you to elbowing people in the head. But as much as I hate you, there is another city that hates you more: Edmonton. You helped them get to the Stanley Cup Finals, and then bailed on them the next year to come to Anaheim and lead them to the Stanley Cup. ooo you spurned them good. I have a feeling you will need security when you go to Edmonton, and maybe every Canadian city you go to. You exemplify the word "traitor". and now you're becoming a cheap-shot artist. Watch out Pronger. Next year there will be teams aiming to make you pay.
The rest of the team, they played good all year. They swiftly went through the playoffs. They are heads and shoulders above everyone else. So if I were a GM. Id find out what exactly they did and either 1) Duplicate it, or 2) find the small crack and expose it. But for now, we have till September before training camp begins.
