Sharks: Finally rolling!

The Sharks are FINALLY rolling along. They have been stuck in mediocrity for a while. Underachieving. But I think they finally righted the ship. Of course playing Phoenix, one of the worst teams, 3 times helps in the roll. Here's what I see:
  • Joe (Thornton) is having a bad year. OK wait, he's having an OFF year. He's not making the passes he normally does. He isn't connecting the way he was. Teams are playing him alot tighter than years before. Tighter meaning less time and space to lookup and make the accurate pass. But it's important to have the other guys step up and get those passes, even if they are on the mark.
  • Under-Achieving: Marleau & Cheechoo are severely under achieving. They are so much better than their point totals. They are probably "holding the stick to tight" and trying to do too much.
  • Power Play: There's not enough movement. Many times, Joe has the puck, and the other 4 players are standing around. They need to move. Switch D to D or D to Wing. Maybe switch sides or play behind the net. or a rotation, or Wing to Slot. If you just stand still, no passing or shooting lanes open up, and you're stuck doing nothing but sitting around.
  • Dump and Chase. There's a time for everything. Dump and Chase works if you do 1 of 2 things. 1) "First man On" meaning if you dump it. you have to know that the first man getting to the puck will be your teammate. or 2) Forecheck with Hits. If you're not the first guy on, you need to Hit the guy who got it. too many times they just skate away or tap the guy. You need to make it miserable if he gets the puck first. More than likely he'll make a mistake and turn it over.
And with that I'd like to talk about the guy who sits behind us. Section 213, row 14. He has been a pain in the ass. He's a smart ass punk who thinks he's smarter and better than everyone else. And he complains about everything the Sharks do. Lots of "Oh come on" "Come on Joe" "Come on Cheechoo" "That's the worst play ever" What's this Dump and Chase" "Oh My God they carried the puck in" "Fire Wilson" He's been there every game. And I think the section is getting tired of it.
One guy said, "Hey do you always have to be so negative?" and the kid (I believe his name is Josh) goes, "Well sorry I don't wear my teal colored glasses." and then said, "what's that say about you who has to pick on someone half your age."
During the intermission the girl next to me goes, "Here comes the announcer." I go, Yeah I hear him every game."
As the game ended the guy next to her goes, "See you later fucker."
After the game, I told the 1st guy who yelled at the kid, "Hey wanna switch seats? I have to sit in front of him." he laughed and said "no thanks."

The next game, "Josh" goes, "where's the Defense? where are you guys?" and another guy in the section goes, "They're on the Ice! don't you see them?" And Josh goes, "You're just a ignorant fan."

Matt came with me one game, and 5 minutes after the kid shows up, he turns to me and goes, "This guy is annoying."

The section has called him "Mr. Negative" because he's so negative and everyone is tired of listening to this guy. He ruins the game experience. While we want to Cheer our team, he brings us all down. I refuse to talk to this guy. I refuse to look at him and acknowledge he is there. He's just a punk kid who ruins the game for the fans. Nobody likes that. Cheer, Boo, but don't ruin the game for the rest of us.
