Gladiators was the team last season that defeated my team "No F In Talent." So when this matchup came around again, we were excited and determined to play a good, fundamentally sound game. As it turned out, we ended up leaving blood sweat and tears on the field.
The intensity was clear right from the start. lots of arms flailing and kicks to the legs (rather than the ball). There were alot of fouls in the game, more than usual. But for the most part we were able to take the game to them. We frustrated them. and jumped out to a good lead going into halftime.
Then it all comes crashing down. With 15 minutes left in the game, our Captain, Rick, runs over one of the other teams best players. It sparks a lot of harsh words and challenges. 2 guys tried to challenge Rick to fight. I ran over and pulled back our keeper and tried to pull back our teammates. Rick was ejected from teh game. We knew now we had to play our best defense. Rick is one of our best players. and with him gone we knew offense was going to struggle alittle. but our D had to be strong. So we went out and proved it.
Fortuneately for us, the 2 guys wanting to fight Rick also got carded, yellow carded. so they were on time out. it was 5 on 4. Very unusual for that matchup. Our team came out and played some very good defense. We bent, but didn't break. We let some in, but we didn't let them take the lead. It came down to 6 to 5 on the scoreboard.
With 1 minute left, the other team kicked a 3 line pass, which is illegal, so the ball came back. And Koens took a 1/4 field shot for a score, making it 7-5. The game ended. Our team knew we had played and conqured the other team.
The schedule get alittle easier. Well of course, we just played the BEST team in the league and now everyone else is not the same calibur. But the trade off is that we are losing some players. Jobs change and some of them have to move on. I am no where near the calibur of these players. I, personally, will try my best to push forward and get better. They took me onto this team. And now it is time to show my worth to my teammates.

Fantasy Football Week 9
Surprise surprise, I did better than expected today. and that always helps out.
Skrulls: Continues to freefall into obilvian. The Tom Brady injury is starting to take form. I can't win squat. Farve was in for Rivers (bye) and Eddie royal was picked up for Vincent Jackson. both weren't too bad.
MVPs: Jacobs (17 pts), Akers, Daniels, Royal.
LVPs: Welker (3pts), PHilly D (8 pts)
Dominic Rhodes's value went straight to the tank. Addai came back and took over. bye Rhodes, thanks for playing. tough with the bye week but you have to manipulate your team as it goes.
Upcoming, I have to replace Rhodes. Also my kicker Akers and Defense Philly face the NYG. not a good matchup. I need to get a new D in.
WWE Team: Surprise surprise, the team comes out with 6 people on bye and wins. I can't believe it. I thought this team would go down but it came out a winner! Actually it is more that the other team had a worse week than I.
MVPs: Jeff Garcia (20 pts), Mason, A-Johnson, Boldin all scored TDs which got me over the hump.
LVPs: Melwede Moore, who is now a backup to Parker who came back. Nick Folk (2pts) not what I expected from Dallas and the kicker.
Still great to see that I won this game. I'm still in First and Matt's team The REplacements are coming up. He's been talking trash about beating me. So it's time to squish him.
Cheltenham Entertainment (Espn): finally back in the win column. 97-65. I beat up on the Framers who whooped me last time. Still leading the league in points yet have a record of 5-4. With Brees out, I started Mat Cassel, who managed a game, but didn't win it.
MVPs: Bryant (17), Brown, Forte, Jones-Drew
LVPs: scaife TE of Ten, was a late replacement for Witten. Obviously TEN doesn't throw to the TE.
A good outing for week 9. Clear sailing from here. Are we sure, no. The Witten injury is a big one. he's a huge weapon. Hopefully he comes back after the bye ready to go.

Fantasy Football Week 8
*** Yeah I'm behind, sue me ***
Skrulls: has now lost 3 in a row. What is happening here? I've lost all control of this one. I don't know what is happening. My team is just under achiving horribly.
MVPs: Drew Brees had 24 pts.
LVPs: Brandon Jacoms, 3pts. not what you want from your #1 RB.
WWE Team: won their game 109 to 81. It goes from a 6 way tie to a 3 way tie for first. and I dominate the league in points, and it shows up on the win column.
MVPs: Drew Brees (24 pts) and LT (19 Pts; finally)
LVPs: Darrek masion (0.15) and Owen Danials (1.05 pts) really stink.
Week 9 = Bye week. I would not be surprised if I loose this. I hae 5 people on bye. I have to juggle in some of the reserves in order to get this team back. So if I lose, oh well. might be one of those "gimmie" weeks.
Cheltenham Entertainment (on ESPN.com): lost 96-84. This was a tough one. The other team had Westbrook, and he blew up for 32 pts.
MVP: Drew Brees (25) with Gore and Jackson following behind
LVPs: Jason Witton (0; got injured), Jones-drew, Ronnie Brown.
The Jacksonville RBs have been severely disappointing to me. The O line injuries have really effected these two. It's too bad, cause it really hurt my team.
All three teams have bye issues, mainly the Drew Brees factor. Most of the Byes are on the WWE team. But it is good to evalute and activate some of the players that you haven't played yet.
