Home Turf Monday D7C Champs

This season has 1 major theme.  Overcoming Adversity.  Adversity was all over the place.  And somehow we came together as a team and played better than our parts. 
After last season's disappointing loss in the finals, this team fell into a huge funk.  We couldn't play worth anything.  The team changed around and we lost a few players but gained a few players too.  We had some really hard games.  Then the injuries started.  Jose got hurt, then Willy, then Deborah (out for season).  The players were dropping like flies and we were scrambling to get players just to play the games.  That lead to our season starting 0-6 (there's only 7 regular season games).  We underachieved most of the season.
Game 7 we played the 3rd place team.  They must have been missing some players because we beat them quite handedly. 
But knowing we were in last, we would have to play the 1st place team.  And that team (Rukis) is really good and they have a really good female player.  We went in and STUNNED them.  They left the field going "What in the world just happened???"
The next week we played the 2nd place team, Hosers.  They were missing their top player. and we ended up upsetting them as well. 
The finals, we played the 4th place team Ballz Deep, who beat the 3rd place team.  They were completely tired by the time they played us, and we DEFEATED them. 

We were all ecstatic when we won.  We weren't suppose to win this playoffs.  We started out 0-6, and in last place!  but it all came together.  We beat the top 4 teams in the last 4 games, when it all mattered.

It was great, yet bittersweet.  This was the last time this team would play together.  Prices went up, and there were alot of injuries that needed healing.  What a great way to go out.
